Recap №01 · Track Fest · LA
Practice ReCap.
This past weekend at Drake Stadium, five Currently athletes came together to compete against some of the best athletes in the U.S. and the world at Sound Running's LA Track Fest — one of the deepest meets of the outdoor season so far, producing over 10 world top-10 marks and 18+ U.S. top-10 performances. Personal bests, wins, and growth all around.
Practice is our elite program — supporting the efforts of elite and sub-elite athletes across their respective disciplines. Every athlete on the team represents a deep spirit of dedication, passion, and resilience.
What motivates us most about these individuals is the depth of the commitment they each represent. The hours spent training, sacrificing, traveling, and growing as individuals, friends and mentors. Slowly, all of us, becoming more connected through the process of pursuing something difficult.
A steady breakthrough.
Emma continues her steady rise with a two-second personal best in a stacked women's steeple field, placing sixth behind some of the best names in the event.
This time sits in the Top 10 Performances of the year in the US.
Calm, composed, and flawless per usual.
Emma is also our first Athlete-Collaborator, working closely with our new technical designer Ashley Kasdorf-Richardson on a race kit shaped by Emma's eye for color, feel, and performance.
Much, much more on that soon.
Sub-10, Beginning.
Emily Brown opened up her SC season with a PR of 9:54.95 in a stacked heat. Brown is an assistant coach at UCLA, so is no stranger to Drake Stadium. This is back to back PR's for her as she continues to improve across all disciplines.
Keep a look out on HOKA Trial of Miles, LA Grand Prix and Canadian Nationals.
[Practice] Win.
1500M specialist Jessica Kain had a strong race and took home a win in her heat — confident racing, smart positioning, and continuing momentum heading deeper into the season. Also, a Santa Cruz Native.
Hoka Trial of Miles and Portland Track Fest up next.
Just Like Practice.
A quiet, explosive competitor. Jamar made a statement during the 110H. Marshall Jr. took the win in the hurdles against a loaded field and continues proving he belongs not just amongst the best in the country — but the world.
Just like practice.
Up Next: USATF Lone Star Grand Prix.
Breakthrough, Lane 1.
Another lap against world-class competition. Willington continues to lean into his training and take the lessons from lane 1 into the rest of the season.
Best shape, mentally and physically, of the year.
