Practice heads to St. Louis.

SLUH Track · 06.04.26 · Thursday night

Currently runners Jessica Kain and Emily Brown are scheduled to race at the HOKA Festival of Miles on June 4 in St. Louis, a meet that consistently produces competitive mile racing early in the outdoor season. Last year's women's professional race was won by Christina Aragon in 4:29.38, with the top four athletes all under 4:31, which gives a good indication of the type of pacing and depth the field typically brings. Kain enters the meet after running 4:10.81 for 1500m this spring. Brown has continued building range across the middle distances and will use the meet as another opportunity to race in a deep field against experienced professional competition. Festival of Miles is known for honest pacing and close racing throughout the field, so the expectation is that both athletes will have an opportunity to continue progressing as the outdoor season develops.
